Highlights of a day of birding:

Today Bingham Gibbs and I observed a flock of 25-30 Mountain Bluebirds at mp
    7.52 on Patterson Pass Road.

In Byron, on Holey Rd., we enjoyed a beautiful male Short-eared Owl perched
on a post. (Thanks to Jean Richmond and friends that had the owl in their
scope when we arrived). Also, there were at least 3 Burrowing Owls at the
same location, that were not the least bit intimidated by 3 Coyotes that
were chasing each other around. On down the road we saw 2 more Burrowing
    Owls and 2 Ferruginous Hawks.

Next we drove to Grizzly Island Road where we were surprised to see Tundra
Swans as there is very little water. We continued on to Red House Road and
watched a flying Short-eared Owl that was flushed by 2 Northern Harriers.
In the water on Red House Road was a pair of Blue-winged Teal.
