This morning a Ferruginous Hawk was circling for several minutes high 
above Chancellor Place, in the hills on the Berkeley/Oakland border.  At 
the time (~11 am) I was fairly far down on a north facing slope and saw 
the bird disappear behind the hill, heading east and south.  By the time 
I arrived at a place with good visibility, I was unable to re-locate the 
bird.
