This morning I went in search of the Short-eared Owls off of Holey Road and
was unable to find any. The day was clear with some wind blowing, but no
need for a coat. I did see a Loggerhead Shrike, Red-tailed Hawks, TV's, and
a Burrowing Owl though, so all was not lost.

I then drove down Herdlyn Road and found about 130 Long-billed Curlews
feasting in a stubble field on the north side of the road, and another
Loggerhead Shrike was in the area, but don't know if it was the same one
from Byron Hot Springs Road which isn't very far away.
