    Birders:

    Sunday, Jan 28th, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. my husband and I
watched 5-6 Short-eared Owls in the first field on the right on Bryon
Hot Springs Rd as earlier reported. We had two different birds perched
on the fence adjacent to the road and several more flying back and forth
in the field hunting. Twice we watched two of the owls interact in the
air as if possibly courting or chasing each other. It was very foggy in
the early morning, but by 11 a.m. the fog had lifted enough to have good
views in the field. We also observed two ravens, some crows, a
White-tailed Kite, a Great Egret, two Red-tailed Hawks, and lots of
singing Western Meadowlarks on both sides of the road.
