This afternoon, on the east side of Caesar Chavez Park, a Burrowing Owl
allowed us very long and close looks from a bench.

We parked along the road (not in the parking lot) and walked
north--counter clock-wise--on the asphalt path that circles the park.
The owl was at the first rocky point, where a leg of the trail veers
off toward the water. The owl was not in the rocks; it was close to
the Scotch Broom near the cleared area. We sat on the bench and watched
it at 2:30 and then again when we retraced our steps at 3:30.
