    Yes - gorgeous - and huge. When we first noticed her (gotta be her), a 
    Northern Harrier was flying around the rock, and the two appeared to be 
    much of a size. And those were just two of the six kinds of raptors (not 
    counting the buzzards) that we saw.
    
    But for me the thrill of the day was my first-ever snipe - I was looking 
    down a canal where one was reputed to have just disappeared, and it flew 
    right across the field of my binocs from side to side....
