And not just AT the lake - on the ground under a little tree, slumming
with a bunch of mallards and sharing enough of their attitude that I
could stand there for ten minutes, practically counting her beautiful
bronze and blue and streaky feathers.... And she was still there
nibbling leaves when I left, and there again taking a little snooze when
I came by again fifteen minutes later.

Look for her under one of those twisty trees right at the lakeside,
about halfway between the tot lot beside the nature center and that
raised maze pattern in the lawn.

Meanwhile, what hangs out with House Sparrows, is a relatively even gray
all over, and has a snow white cap from eye to eye and from beak to
about eye level at the back of the head? And is maybe a little smaller
than the rest of the flock? I never saw anything like it, and can't find
it in the book - but it was flapping about on Perkins, just down from
Palm Avenue, about fifteen minutes ago.
