Around 7:30 I went back to Redwood. (Saturday night, there was an
EBRPD evening hike, and I learned that there are Saw-whet Owls there.
We also heard a distant Great-horned Owl.)
I brought my recording equipment to try and get a recording without
talking in the background. A Saw-whet responded to whistling a couple
of times. I heard the Great-horned Owl again, and while I was
recording, I thought I heard a Western Screech Owl. It was faint, and
I only heard it call twice. I wasn't sure if I was hearing things, so
I tried a little sound encouragement, but got no response. It turns
out I wasn't hearing things, as I can hear it on my recording.
