    Hi, all.
Didn't see the redstart (but since it had been days
since the sighting, wasn't surprised), but did see a
couple of Townsend's warblers just across the street
from the site. Also, chestnut-backed chickadee,
    California towhee and Anna's hummer.
Down along the south side of the Emeryville
peninsula, I saw a fair number of willets and
whimbrels huddling on the rocks. In the brush nearby
were house and white-crowned sparrows and a warbler
that wouldn't hold still for me--possible Nashville,
yellowthroat or orange-crowned female. (Yeah, that's
quite a selection, but at least I could rule some
    things out.)
There were also a few distant, unidentified terns,
an egret winging by and a wonderful flight of brown
    pelicans.
What a gorgeous fall day to be birding along the
    bay!
    Cheers,
    Alan Howe
