A red tailed hawk's nest can be seen from the Tilden Native Plant Garden.

When you go into the front gate, follow the right hand path until you
reach a glass greenhouse. It is across a small open space from the
sierran meadow plot. They usually have a small gardening vehicle parked
in the same square. To the left of that greenhouse is a bridge. Go about
three quarters of the way across the bridge and look to your left. In
the distance is a douglass fir. It frames some eucaliptus trees that are
much further away - probably about 1/3 of a mile. There is a big nest in
one of those eucaliptus trees; big enough to be seen by the naked eye.
If you are there at the right time, you will be able to see one or both
of the adult Red Tails on the nest. You can see the birds with
binoculars, but a scope is much better.
