Lawrence's Goldfinches (a male and a female) were seen
today at 11am at the fire station near the junction of
Mines Rd and Del Puerto Canyon Rds.

According to the CDF staff person I talked to, they
usually hang out in the ponderosa pines in the parking
lot near the engineering contractor's trailer.
Apparently the CDF folks are used to birders there.
When he saw me, he asked, "seen 'em yet?" instead of
the expected, "what 'cha looking for" or giving me the
quizical look we birders often get from "normal"
    people.
