I just returned to work and got a wonderful look at a Cooper's Hawk as it landed in a small tree and bounced up and down on a small branch, in order to break it off to use in a nearby nest.  The nest looks about half completed and is located at the very end of Quarry Lane, which is off of Valley Ave in Pleasanton.  I see them regularly in the area, as does Rich Cimino.
