I took a short 1.5 mile hike up Strawberry Canyon from the Centennial
road trailhead, about 1/2 mile east of the UC Berkeley football
stadium. On the 2nd half of the trail, where it makes a steep uphill
jog to the upper portion of the trail, I saw the following notable
    birds:

    Lincoln's Sparrow
    Fox Sparrow
    Varied Thrush (male)
    Hermit Thrush
    2 Golden-crowned Kinglets
Hutton's vireo in the same small Live Oak with a Ruby-crowned Kinglet
    Townsend's Warbler (male)
    Downy Woodpecker (heard only)
    Red-shouldered Hawk

plus the very common stuff such as ravens, chickadees, robins, Song
Sparrows, TVs, Wrentits, jays and juncos and CAL joggers.

    Good Birding as always,
    Ted Robertson
