    Hi all:

What an absolutely gorgeous day. We deserved it.

The last pond on your right before you go through the
San Mateo Bridge toll booths westbound, held a dozen
Phalaropes. I'd say Red, but that seems like
cheating. Insider trading. birding without doing the
hard part. In any event, I got the impression they
were celebrating the dawn and a shiny object in the
    east.

At 1:30 -- 1:45 I observed the Black and White Warbler
adjacent to Perkins St. and across from the Lake
Merritt Gull and Night-heron playground. What a
beautiful bird. Hard to believe a black and white bird
could be so pretty. Looked to be an adult female.
    Other thoughts?

No sign of a sparrow flock, save for a small group of
    Dark-eyed Juncos.

Barrow's and Common Goldeneye were in relative
abundance. No luck with the Tufted Duck. Needed more time.
