The Barrow's Goldeneye/Hooded Merganser hybrid documented the past two 
winters at Lake Merritt by Rich Stallcup, Joe Morlan and others (latest 
issue of Western Birds) was seen on Thursday from approx. 11:30-12:30 
pm. The bird was seen loosely associating with Common Goldeneyes at the 
southern end of the lake near the 12th St. Bridge.
