I saw a Virginia Rail right off the long flat bridge at Martinez =
Regional Shoreline this afternoon. It was at the far end of that bridge, =
in the reeds off to the left, when coming from the parking area.

Also, hundreds of peeps (probably Western Sandpipers), a dozen or more =
Avocets and Black-necked Stilts, one Marbled Godwit on the mudflats, and =
a few Canvasback, a few Gadwall, and a Common Goldeneye in the pond.
