This morning I refound the Northern Waterthrush at Aquatic Park in =
Berkeley. It was still foraging on low hanging branches over the water =
in the NE corner of the southern most pond. I was able to watch it from =
the road at the top of the middle path that has a huge drop off. The =
Waterthrush was easy to spot as it is continually bobbing - finally a =
    California bird for me.

The Hooded Merganser couple was swimming in the middle pond. =
Red-breasted Mergansers were in the large, northern most pond. I =
watched a duck scoot a long distance across the water just like a little =
boat and when it stopped I saw it was the beautiful male red-breasted =
merganser. I had never seen this behavior before - it was really =
    amusing.

Then I stopped at Lake Merritt and ran into a couple birders - Paul ? =
and Bob Dunn. They had the Black and White Warbler in the normal corner =
area and I watched it with great pleasure as I (& 2 friends) had looked =
for it yesterday to no avail.

However, yesterday we did have a Hutton's Vireo in the garden.
