The Black and White Warbler continues at Lake Merritt, in Lakeshore Park, bounded by Perkins, Grand, and Bellevue.

It was in a very mixed flock, as has been previously reported. The flock contains Chickadees, Titmice, "Audubon's" Yellow-rumped Warblers, Townsend's Warblers, at least 2 Brown Creepers, and Kinglets.

Also traveling with these small birds are a pair of Downy Woodpeckers, a Nuttall's Woodpecker, and a Red-breasted Sapsucker. A Northern Flicker was also present, but I don't think it is part of this group, normally.

I have encountered this flock many times, and they are always in this part of the park, never wandering further west than the Lawn Bowling Clubhouse, and never into the "Gardens".

I did not locate the flock of White-crowned Sparrows normally in the Gardens, which should contain the White-throated Sparrow.

There were 4 Red-tailed Hawks over Lake Merritt today.
