   Today, during a census of Clapper Rails at Arrowhead Marsh, 80 Clapper 
Rails were seen.  Additionally, 27 Soras and 3 Virginia Rails were observed. 
  The census area was limited to the "arrowhead" portion of the marsh.

   The three Virginias were seen under the pier.  Their numbers have been 
declining as the number of Clappers have been increasing.   Peter
