A female VARIED THRUSH showed up in my backyard
(suburban Castro Valley) yesterday afternoon.  The
robins and cedar waxwings were after the pyracantha
berries, but the varied thrush seemed to be just
foraging on the ground.  I have never seen a varied
thrush in my yard before.  Wish it would show up for
Christmas Bird Count!
