We had a Cooper's hawk camp on our neighbor's roof yesterday.  Very
cooperative bird.  Sat there for about 15 minutes - enough time for me
to attach a telephoto lens and tri-pod to my camera and get some
terrific photos.  Fortunately, my second floor study window overlooks my
neighbor's roof and provides a discreet viewing and photo spot. From our
Sibley's guide, the hawk appeared to be a female.  We live in the hills
in North Berkeley.
