    Dear Birders,

Could I possibly have a Williamson's in my yard? Yesterday, in poor =
back lighting, I saw a sapsucker - from a side view - that appeared =
primarily buffy brown with fine, dark streaking on its back and sides. =
I gave it up as an unidentifiable bird.

This morning the bird reappeared on the same tree, at a series of =
typical sapsucker holes, this time in good light. This view confirmed =
the color, the fine, dark streaking, and the lack of any broad white =
side stripe on the wings. I could not see the breast, but the bird =
looks precisely as Sibley's juvenile or female adult Williamson's. It =
sat for at least five minutes without moving on the tree trunk directly =
in my line of sight so I feel comfortable with these descriptions.

Any input on this ID would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.
