    Birders:

Yesterday, Monday Sept 12, a number of birders spent much of the day at
Del Valle RP but failed to find the male Red-faced Warbler that Steve
    Huckabone reported on Sunday.

I met John Luther at about 11 am as I drove into the park, and we
hooked up with Jim White, who had been there since about 7:30 am. We
attracted one large flock near where Steve reported the bird, but
Western Tanager was the only migrant that joined that flock. I left
about 1:00 pm, when Mike Rogers and another birder whose name I didn't
learn joined John (and Jim?) for another round of searching. Other
migrants found included "Western" Flycatcher, Warbling Vireo and Yellow
Warbler; a Townsend's Warbler was the only other warbler reported.

Steve's directions on the Northern California RBA and in his EBB worked
fine; Jim had been working the right spot, as John had on Sunday night
after Steve left. The GPS coordinates that Steve sent me (Elev: 837ft,
N37,34.631, W121,41.856) helped us ensure we were in the right spot.
    We searched more widely, as well, but . . . . .

Apologies for this late post; my ISP has been balky. And good luck to
any others who search for this bird.
