Saw my first Olive-Sided Flycatcher yesterday at San Pablo Reservoir. It
was on the trail between the Headquarters building and the boat landing in a
forested area just north of the Headquarters, perched at the top of a low
tree. It made several forays for insects, always returning to the same perch. I
could clearly see the white stripe down the center of its chest. During
an hour walk also saw Townsends and Wilson Warblers, Red-Breasted Nuthatch,
Brown Creeper, Towhees (both California and Spotted) many Juncos, Red Tailed
Hawks and the usual Jays, Doves and Turkey Vultures.
