A stunning immature Golden Eagle soared above Del Valle Regional Park in Moraga on Sunday. It had very distinctive, striking patches of white and it was so large, it dwarfed the 4 young Red Tail Hawks that circled it. Took my breath away!

Other birds spotted or heard near the Rocky Ridge Trail: Killdeer, Lesser Yellowlegs, Pied-billed Grebes, Kingfisher, Acorn & Nuttall's Woodie, Black Phoebe, Forster's Tern, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Red Shouldered Hawk, American Kestrel.
