A Black-throated Gray Warbler made a visit to my artificial creek and
pond today. I don't know if it is all that unusual for this area,
but it is a first for me here. It took a quick drink and bath then
    vanished into the oaks.

The creek and pond are less than two months old and have been bird
magnets, drawing in species that my feeders and birdbaths hadn't.
    Western Bluebirds, Black-headed Grosbeaks, Bullock's Orioles, a
family of California Quail, and even a juvenile Accipiter (too
fleeting a glimpse to id) have all been in for a drink and a bath.
    What a difference a little "natural" water makes. . . .

    Happy birding,
