I don't know how unusual it is, but I saw a Spotted Sandpiper in the Richmond Marina yesterday afternoon. There may have been two as after I had passed the first one, another appeared later in the walk.

The bird was on the rocks along the water and bobbing like a teeter=totter. Location: as you walk towards the Bay from Salute Restaurant, you pass the Marina Bay Yacht Club on your left, the boats and rocks and water are on your right. The bird was half way along this path, i.e. between the yacht club and the turnoff path to the left that leads you to Shimada Park.

Also following up on an earlier email conversation I saw 4-5 Osprey over in Las Gallinas Sewage Treatment ponds in San Raphael within the last two weeks and one of the Osprey was flying round in circles carrying a fish (thanks whoever clarified this behavior). The Osprey are atop the power towers between the ponds and China Camp.
