Alan, the most prominent wing patches, white at the
base of the inner primaries and sometimes the outer
secondaries, are visible throughout the golden eagle's
first year.  Some white can be visible on some birds
all the way through their fourth year, but it tends to
be more and more diminished as the birds acquire their
adult plumage.
