Although we sadly missed the spectacle of a field covered in
multi-morphed feathered predators, snarfing voles like there was no
tomorrow, we did observe a light phase Swainson's hawk, flying directly
overhead, with said vole clutched in his/her talons; somewhere, the
feast continues. There was a dark-morph Swainson's as well, both rising
up from a field along Mountain House Rd. The flat, mostly seer fields,
incessant wind and ominous (at least if you are a raptor, or raptor
sympathizer) and ubiquitous windmill silhouettes made for a most
    unpleasant birding locale.
