    Dear Friends:

In an unlikely case of "irrational exuberance," I have purchased a =
mobile home in the Santa Barbara foothills -- a 1960's oldie with its =
own jacaranda and olive tree and views of the Santa Inez Mountains. =
What really roped me in was the abundance of California Quail (thanks, I =
think to the restriction of cats to the indoors only).

So now I am the questioning possessor of this flimsy vinyl abode but =
with all kinds of birding possibilities. I plan on spending most of =
July and August there while an Italian professor rents my Berkeley =
place. What I need (no, require) are birding companions for forays up =
into the mountain companions. Can you give me any names!?
