    On Saturday, 4 June, I was at Lynch Canyon in Solano County and there were
    a massive number of Painted Ladies there.  More than I've ever seen before.
    They were just swarming everywhere.  All looked very fresh.  
    
    I happened to meet a butterfly expert there, Phil Nordin, who said he
    thought they were one or two days old, suggesting a local hatch rather than
    migrants from the South.
