Yesterday I had the opportunity to go sailing in the afternoon from Pt.
Richmond. I saw 2 Pigeon Guillemots about 1/4 mile east of the
Southampton Shoal light. I believe the birds were in San Francisco Co.,
but one of them flew off to the east and may have crossed into Alameda
Co.. Unfortunately we did not have GPS on board and this location is
fairly close to a triple county junction (SF, Alameda, Contra Costa). I am
wondering if it is at all unusual to see this species this far into the
    Bay?
Also seen were two Common Loons, 5 Brown Pelicans together, Caspian and
Forster's Terns, Double-crested Cormorant, Western and Ring-belled Gulls,
    and some Aechmophorus grebes.
