    H All,
This morning I had a chance to briefly visit Patterson Pass Rd around 10:30 to search for the Blue Grosbeak. Conditions were overcast, breezy, and cool. Mercifully little traffic at this late hour.
At the 5.90 mile marker there was a singing LARK SPARROW perched on a tree top, as well as a singing WILSON'S WARBLER in hidden in the gulch. Also had ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER and CALIFORNIA TOWHEE.
The 6.21 mile marker was more productive. A lovely pair of BLUE GROSBEAKs were hanging out just across the gully. While the female was often absent, the male was usually in full view. He did not sing, but called from time to time. In contrast, a male LAZULI BUNTING was tirelessly singing and provided superb views. Also seen were CALIFORNIA TOWHEE, a female WILSON'S WARBLER, and a singing SWAINSON'S THRUSH. A BEWICK'S WREN was heard only. The grosbeak provided wonderful views - I hated to leave him sitting there when I had to leave. I think Brian Zeiler could get some excellent pictures there.
Along the road were RED-TAILED HAWKs and a COMMON RAVEN, but no Golden Eagles and no Burrowing Owls my usual spots (maybe they were concealed by the high grass).

Finally, private feedback on format would be appreciated - should I capitalize all species, no species, or just the "good" species?
