    I checked out the barn owls nesting in Livermore this
    evening - thanks to Bill Clark for mentioning it
    (directions are in his email, or just email me if you
    deleted it).
    
    I saw one adult and three owlets.  The third owlet
    only showed up in one photograph; only two were
    regularly visible.  They were all still groggy when I
    arrived around 6:30 but by 8:00 they were perked up
    and ready to roll, so I left them alone.  They were
    very tolerant of me; they seemed used to people
    looking at them. In chatting with a few passersby it
    seemed they have local celebrity status.
