    Hi Everyone--

A few quickies from Saturday 4/30. The Blue Grosbeak was still at MP 6.21 on
Patterson Pass Road in Livermore. The female Hooded Oriole was still in the
large gum tree in the parking lot of Murrieta's Well, a winery off Mines
Road at MP 0.35. The male Great-tailed Grackle was walking jauntily along
the sidewalk on Dalton Street in NE Livermore (Dalton is off N Vasco). At
the complete opposite side of the county, I gawked at that oh-so-pretty
Franklin's Gull at Lake Merritt (I was there around 5pm). I remarked to
myself that it seemed peculiar that several night-herons were begging for
bread along with the pigeons and ducks. Hey, maybe people throw them chicken
bones, you just never know. I did watch a woman toss a batch of spoiled
tamales at the gulls. And why are those poor chukars in the same pen as the
    gimpy geese?
