This morning a male Hooded Oriole made a long visit to my oriole feeder. He and his mate have a nest in the 30ft fan palm next door. They've raised one brood already. I've seen at least one fledgling. The fledgling is a brighter yellow than the female. The orioles seem to have started in on a second brood. I see the female out and about frequently but the male seems to spend more time in the nest. He does come out to harass the Scrub Jays when they fly too close to his palm tree. Male and female oriole will gang up on the Scrub Jays if necessary to chase them away.

Location of the nest is a backyard on the interior of a townhouse complex near Washington and Driscoll in Fremont. I put the oriole feeder out this winter and after a couple months the Hooded Orioles showed up and moved into the fan palm.
