No Stephanie you are not alone. We have 6 hummingbird feeding stations and 
have them year round. They nest in the trees here in the yard sometimes feet 
from the front door. There is no way to descride the absolute satisfaction to 
step outside the front door to get the mail and watch a family of Anna's go from 
nest beginnings to eggs to flying teens. Last summer i went through 60 pounds 
of sugar.
