This moring, on my walk through San Pablo Park (not far from San Pablo & Ashby) I heard a Titmouse singing. Not a common sound in my neighborhood, so I took a detour to check it out. On Russell St was the bird, in an old Loquat tree in someone's front yard. The tree had four woodpecker holes. As I watched a Nuttall's Woodpecker flew out of one and the Titmouse flew into another.

Now were this Briones or some other good habitat, I wouldn't take your time with this story. But this is quite an urban setting, or at least sub-urban. So I was pleased.
