    Hi Everyone--

I made a lunch-hour trip to Sunol Regional Park today 3/29. I drove into the
dirt parking area past the turnoff to the visitor center, and was pleased to
see a flock of Golden-crowned Sparrows scratching in the middle of the
parking area. I decided the best thing to do was to stay in the car. On
turning off the motor, the HARRIS'S SPARROW hopped in to join the
Golden-crowns, and I eventually watched it go under my car. After ten
minutes or so, the flock retreated behind the oft-mentioned porta-potty, so
I drove down to the Alameda picnic area, and walked around briefly. WARBLING
VIREOS, ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, and HOUSE WRENS were singing, and a male
COOPER'S HAWK was making some odd sapsucker-like squeals. The creek was
    raging, but not flooding yet.
