Yesterday as I came down the hill I wondered to
myself if the fact that the nest is directly over the
road, which does indeed get use from noisy crowds of
children as well as dogs, might be something EBRP
folks might try to use to their advantage. And so they
have. The eagles are indeed tolerant of a lot more
than I would expect. Of course, we don't know how a
large influx of visitors might affect them. And with a
lot more people visiting, the danger of someone doing
something stupid and affecting the nest increases. The
goldens certainly don't represent all the other
    birds--of prey and otherwise--that aren't nearly so
cool and collected. We might also ask how tame we want
    our wildlife to be anyway.
I imagine that the issue of the corridor's integrity
may end up being the one that has to be focussed on.
    Take care,
