Late Sunday afternoon, Feb. 27, the Swamp Sparrow was observed from 4:30
p.m. until 4:45 p.m. It was moving in and out of the reeds at the water's
edge along the south side of Las Positas Creek in Springtown (Livermore), a
few yards from the west end of the paved trail and below where the fence
crosses the creek. It stayed out in the open for about 5 minutes before
darting into the reeds and moving in and out (heading east) before we left
it. Among other birds seen were one Wilson's Snipe and three male and two
    female Cinnamon Teal.
