My apologies for the belated report. After trying for most of the week,
I managed to pick up the Long-tailed Duck in Martinez from the train on
my commute to and from work on Thursday. A new bird for my train list!
It was with the scoter flock around 9:00 in the morning and again
around 4:30 in the afternoon. It's a frustrating bird to see from the
train because the scoter flock hangs out further east than the Barrow's
Goldeneye flock generally does, where there are more view obstructions.
By the way, the Barrow's Goldeneye flock has largely moved on. I only
saw a few birds last week.
