A flock of about 6 to 12 pine siskins has visited our thistle sock feeder
daily for about the last three weeks. They dominate the lesser and American
goldfinches that are the regular feeders. In previous years, we would have perhaps
one stray pine siskin per season at the feeder.
Occasionally a hermit thrush also darts among shrubbery near the tree where
the feeder hangs, among the usual ground-feeding golden crown sparrows and
    dark-eyed juncos.

This is in the south part of Walnut Creek, off Rudgear Road.
