Monday from 8 am to 11am, a male Marbled Duck was resting in
Springtown Creek, downstream from Springtown Blvd, about
1 mi N of Hwy 580 (the 1st St - Springtown Blvd offramp).

This is a beautiful duck, with a rufous and brown back,
gray sides, a tan face, white patches at the rear, outlined in black,
white wing patches, green specula, a pinkish breast with black spots,
a black crown stripe extending down the nape, a blue-gray bill with
a tiny black nail, and bright pink legs and feet.

This is undoubtable an escaped bird, but fun to see,
and would make a great photo (which I can't do).
