Walking on Inspiration Trail from Inspiration Point at Wildcat Canyon Road
this morning, before reaching San Pablo Dam Road, I saw six White Pelicans
resting on the shore near the southern end of San Pablo Reservoir.

Also, there was a flurry of activities in a pond to the southeast of the
trail. At one point, the tiny pond had 5 species:

    Great Blue Heron,
    Mallard, a pair
    Killdeer, 2
    Greater Yellowlegs,
    Spotted Sandpiper

Later a Black Phoebe showed up briefly, and a male American Kestrel tried
and failed to catch any of the Western Meadowlarks foraging on the shore of
    the pond.

Inspiration Trail is in EBMUD watershed; hiking permit is required.
