    Hi E.B. Birders,

This evening at about 5:30 pm, there was a Lapland Longspur at the southeast corner of Berkeley's Caesar Chavez park. It was foraging in the mowed grass. About five Savannah Sparrows were nearby. I watched it through my scope and showed it to curious hikers for about 45 minutes.

    >From the 90 degree bend in the road that heads out to the bay, (Yahoo maps calls these "Unnamed Street" and Virginia Street) park and walk north along the paved trail about 20 yards. The longspur was on a grassy mound, just west of the trail and about 10 yards north of a small, red fire hydrant.

    All the Best Birding,
