I for one got your previous post. If you are wondering if a post was
    delivered, you can check sialia.com:

My post re Mines Road from about a week ago never made it to my mailbox,
but it appeared on sialia, so I didn't repost. Hopefully the move to
Yahoo will end these delivery problems.

Re Band-tailed Pigeons, we see them frequently - nearly daily for much
of the year - at our feeders and around our street (Hoover Ave. near
Fruitvale) in the Oakmore neighborhood in Oakland. This is in the lower
hills (below Rt. 13), though Dimond Canyon and Joaquin Miller Park,
where Band-tails are regular, are nearby. Interestingly, Rock Pigeons
are common about half a mile away along Park Boulevard in the Glenview
neighborhood, but we never see them except in the distance (and never
see Band-tails in Glenview), as if the two species maintain a distinct
border between their territories (knocking on wood).

    Good birding,

I hadn't heard of these hanging out in neighborhoods before, so I thought it was worth mentioning. Feel free to email me for a more specific location.
