    Birders:

Yesterday, Feb. 18th, while leading a field trip for MDAS, our group found a
white-striped morph of the White-Throated Sparrow at Sunol Regional
Wilderness Park in Fremont. The bird was in with several Fox Sparrows, many
Golden-crowned Sparrows and a Hermit Thrush just to the right of the foot
bridge over the creek by the parking lot. The birds could be seen from the
end of the bridge closest to the parking lot and looking down into the low
bushes and along an old road leading down to the creek. Band-tailed Pigeons
were in abundance, flying back and forth over the canopy and perching in the
tall sycamores and other leafless trees for good viewing from the bridge.

There were also many Wood Ducks observed from both sides of the bridge on
Calaveras Road before the entrance to the park.
