New to the teen program at Lindsay Wildlife Museum is a birding group.
Six teens have signed on to learn more about birds, including bird
    identification.

On Sunday, Feb 14, we had our first field trip, part of which included
gathering data for The Great Backyard Bird Count. What a thrill that
our first bird sighting as a group was a RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER - a
life bird for all of us! (Our actual count took place in a different
location, so this bird was not included in our count).

This bird was very active in a black oak located in front of the
museum (First Avenue). The museum is located in Larkey Park, Walnut
    Creek.
