We did a CBC in Hayward Shoreline area, Section 14
    on Dec. 20.
We had 4 American Pipits in 4 different locations.

I usually look for them during winter as it is the
time of the year for them to be in our areas: Hayward,
South Bay, etc. and for me to find them.

They are relatively easy to study / view as they
remain feeding / walking once spotted providing
one keeps a respective distance from the bird.
I usually "flush" the bird after my viewing when
I need to continue my walk and the bird is too
    close to the path.
